The VL Points system has been set up to encourage clubs to develop the sport in their local area. The incentive for all clubs is to turn development work into pounds off league fees. In April clubs will return a simple table of evidence (downloadable below) showing their development during the year. Development is marked on a points scale and those points are then converted to pounds which are returned to the club up to a maximum of £70 (initial league deposit). Examples of awards are 2 points awarded for a schools training session, 1 point awarded for each article in the press. At season end there will also be a trophy awarded to the club showing the most development through these points.
